Week 5: Blusher

Week 6: Mascara

So lets get into tonight's post, Eyeliner where do we begin ...

you can make so many differences to a look using eyeliner. you can change the shape of the eye, widen and lengthen them. as well as adding some drama to an evening look. the possibilities are endless. so what types of eyeliners are there?

Pen Liners

Pen Liners are my favorite for doing winged liner, they are so easy to work with. They resemble felt tip pens and come in different thicknesses, I find the formula so easy and mess free, and the staying power is definitely better than other formulas.

Liquid Liners

Liquid liners are probably my least favorite liner to work with, I find them really messy as well as difficult to move over un-stretched skin.

Pencil Liners

weave all got at least one pencil liner right? they are so versatile and can really add some depth to a look. They can sit in the waterline, on the lid or just under the lash line. each way creates a different look.

Gel Liner

Gel liners are used with brushes, there consistency is very similar to pencil liners once applied however they are of course less thick. they are nice to work with however there staying power isn't as great in my experience as pen liners.

I thought I'd run through a few of the different ways I like to wear eyeliner, i hope you find this useful :) So of course we start off with a naked eye (normally I would apply mascara after eyeliner but for the purpose of this post I did it before)

My most used and probably the easiest way of applying pencil eyeliner is just running it along the lower waterline. Once done, it will look something like the below:

you can also apply the pencil liner to the upper waterline. This can be really uncomfortable and tickles like crazy haha but it really adds depth to the eye. I also think it opens up the eyes a lot.

you can also continue the eyeliner right into the tear duct. This really frames the eye and can quite often make it appear smaller, longer and sometimes completly change the shape. But it can really complete certain looks.

Moving onto how I like to wear the pen liners. You can just apply this to the upper lid along the lash line to create a darker more defined eye, like below.

Or you can add a wing to this. you will see from the below that I also added some pen liner to the inner corner to create a sharper line. This also makes the eye appear longer.

I really love the way this looks on its own, but also think it looks amazing with a dark smokey eye.

Whats your favorite way to wear eyeliner, and which type do you prefer?
