Weightloss your way

*Review* Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

I was recently browsing the make-up shelves of Tesco (as you do) and came across the Maybelline BB Cream. I've never really been drawn to BB cream because I like coverage, and didn't really see the point; however, any of you that live in the UK know that the last few weeks have been holiday hot, this has meant constant re-powdering and my makeup had been feeling very heavy. So I thought why not try it.

None of the testers really matched my skin so I decided to go with Universal Glow. As you can see from the picture below it is a very potent orange so I was a little worried about trying this out, however it seemed to have a lot of benefits and for the price…well you just can’t go wrong.

This BB cream claims to offer 8 benefits in 1:
      - Creates a natural glow
      - Compliments skin-tone
      - SPF30 UV protection
      - Hydrates all day
      - Blurs imperfections
      - Oil free, non-greasy
      - Looks visibly smooth
      - Feels fresh

At first I thought, this is never going to look good, it’s so orange. But the old saying was definitely true; don’t judge a book by its cover. It applied really orange at first, but once I started to blend in with my fingers (which took a bit of doing) I must say I was rather impressed.
At first glance I was still skeptical but the more I applied the better it looked. If you’re having a bad day with your skin then I would avoid this as coverage isn't great, but it doesn't claim to have great coverage, which I like.. Honestly is the best policy ;)
In terms of what it does claim, I think they've done a pretty good job. I wouldn't go as far as saying it hydrates all day, but in terms of everything else its bang on.

Before                   |                     After
One thing I would like to add that I found a little bizarre however is this; after about an hour I looked in the mirror and to my surprise it seemed to look a little better than at first. I have noticed this every time I've used it. I've never experienced this with a product before, and I’m not too sure if this is just me but I definitely felt that it looked more flawless after a short while before gradually fading during the day, like most products.

This is product definitely something I would re-purchase, and would highly recommend to people with clear skin who are just looking to even out their skin tone. For those good skin days or when you’re having a lazy day and just want that slight glow

Have you tried it?? What did you think?

Welcome!

Well Hellooo there...

If you’re reading this, you’re probably a lover of all things beauty related just like me.

So I just wanted to welcome you to my Blog, and tell you a little more about me and what you can expect to see here.

I’m Sophie, I’m 21 and currently work for an energy consultancy company as an accounts assistant. I am a fully qualified hairdresser however, I made the decision that the salon environment wasn’t for me so fell into the full time job route and continue to do hairdressing on the side as a hobby.

About 6 years ago I was attacked (I won’t go into detail now but maybe in another post) following this I became a bit of a recluse and this was when I discovered the internet. I would sit for hours on end watching YouTube videos and reading blogs. Gradually as life has continued I’ve followed hundreds of people and over the years discovered my love for beauty. I’ve ended up with enough make-up to fill a small boutique and have experimented with so many products that for the last 2 years I’ve contemplated setting up my own blog to share my knowledge and to join the community of people who love the same things as I do as there are very few people I know who enjoy talking about foundation etc. as much as me haha.

So that brings us to now, I finally decided to take the leap and start this blog and to hopefully make some friends who love the same things as me. I hope you enjoy reading my posts and comment with suggestions for me to try too.

Look forward to having a chinwag :D
